
On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration announced that valley schools would be closed from July 4 to July 14. (July 1). Schools in the Jammu region's winter zone would also be closed, the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, B K Singh, announced in an official order. According to the directive, summer vacation would be observed from July 4 to July 14, 2022, at all government educational institutions and accredited private schools up to upper secondary level operating in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of the Jammu Division
Summer vacation in Leh schools
In response to the unexpected increase in the Covid-19 infection in the Union territory, the Ladakh administration has also announced summer vacation for all government and private educational institutions in the Leh district beginning on July 4. According to a PTI report, District Magistrate of Leh Shrikant Balasahib Suse issued an order saying, "In light of the recent spike in Covid cases, especially among children, it will appropriate to postpone the summer vacations in all government and private schools in Leh district as a measure to break the chain of infection."
The Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LACAL), whose Ladakh children festival was slated to start on July 4, has also been postponed as a result of the announcement of summer vacations in UT. New dates for the festivities have not yet been revealed.
