
As the southwest monsoon finally stretches over the nation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that sporadic very heavy rainfall is likely to fall over areas of Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra today.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected to occur across the Gujarat region between July 7 and July 10, as well as in Madhya Maharashtra on July 10 and coastal Karnataka between July 7 and July 8. This was stated in IMD's forecast that was released on Thursday.
Additionally, the IMD anticipated "scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall" over Konkan and Goa over the course of the following five days, as well as "isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Gujarat region on July 6, Saurashtra and Kutch on July 8 and July 9, and over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra between July 7 and July 9."
