According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), severe to very heavy rain is expected to continue Thursday in Gujarat, sections of Maharashtra, Goa, the Konkan, isolated locations in Odisha, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, coastal and south interior Karnataka, and Telangana.
In remote areas of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, thunderstorms with lightning, strong winds, and squall (with a speed of 50–60 kmph) are highly likely, according to IMD. The IMD reported that there were isolated lightning strikes over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
