The Karnataka government's Kashi Yatra programme now has two websites where pilgrims can register for subsidies and look for other related information: itms.kar.nic.in and sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in.

The programme grants about 30,000 pilgrims cash support in the amount of $5,000 apiece to undertake a trip to the Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh-based Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Shashikala Jolle, the Karnataka minister for religious endowment, Hajj, and wakf, made the announcement.

The plan was initially mentioned in the chief minister's budget address for current fiscal year, and the Basavaraj Bommai government claimed to have set aside up to 7 crore for it.
