Authorities claim that a truck ran over a 58-year-old deputy superintendent of police from Haryana who was trying to stop a truck for questioning on Tuesday when he was looking into a tip about illicit mining in the Nuh area.

According to Haryana director general of police PK Agrawal, the DSP's death in Nuh's Pachgaon prompted a search operation during which a truck cleaner was shot in the leg and taken into custody. He stated that "teams are undertaking raids to arrest the other offenders."

According to officials, there are over 200 complaints of unlawful mining filed in Nuh each year.

Surender Singh, a Tauru DSP in Nuh, was struck by a truck at 11.50 on Tuesday, and a team of medical professionals at the scene pronounced him dead, according to the police.
