
According to official statistics, at least 20 individuals in Bihar perished as a result of lightning strikes in eight districts in the previous 48 hours.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, expressed sorrow for the fatalities brought on by lightning strikes between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
About 150 kilometres from the state capital, in the Kaimur district, seven deaths were reported; four deaths each were reported in Patna and Bhojpur. There was one death each reported in Jehanabad, Arwal, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Siwan.
An official press release states that Kumar also urged people to exercise caution in bad weather and announced an ex-gratia of 4 lakh for the deceased's next of kin.
