August 2022 stock market holidays: On August 9, 15, and 31, trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) would be suspended. According to the list of stock market holidays that can be found on bseindia.com, the BSE's official website, this is the case.
Due to Muharram, no trading will take place on August 9 (Tuesday), and August 15 (Monday) is Independence Day. Due to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, the financial markets will be closed on the final day of the month.
The BSE's list indicates that there will be no trading in the equities, equity derivative, and SLB segments on each of the three days. Additionally, trading will only occur in the evening sessions on August 9 and 31 during these three days, not during the morning session (9am to 5pm). On July 4, there won't be any trading in the commodity category during either session.
After August 31, the only other time the stock market will be closed is on October 5 for Dussehra, then on October 24 for Diwali and Diwali Balipratipada (October 26).
