A high-level investigation into the deadly gas leak at an apparel factory in the Anakapalli district, which resulted in more than 150 workers being ill on Tuesday night, was ordered by the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday.
The closure of Seeds Intimate Apparels, a garment manufacturing facility at the Brandix special economic zone in Atchyutapuram, was also ordered by state industries minister Gudivada Amarnath, who visited the victims at the government hospital in Anakapalli. This was done until the investigation was finished and the causes of the gas leakage were determined.
As long as the business is closed, the minister instructed the management to pay the employees' salary.
