
Officials reported that the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway, which had been closed earlier in the day due to recent landslides and shooting stones near Ramban, had been mostly restored by Friday afternoon.
As a result, they continued, 174 Amarnath Yatris who were delayed at Chanderkote in the Ramban area this morning continued on to the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
"The Jammu-Srinagar route is being cleaned of stalled vehicles and has been partially restored. We are allowing vehicles to pass the area with caution even if firing stones are occasionally on at Panthiyal, a police officer added.
However, it is urged that no one should use the route without first getting permission from the traffic control centres in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban.
