Nitish Kumar, the governor of Bihar and the de facto leader of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), tendered his resignation to Phagu Chauhan on Tuesday. He has just arrived at the Patna Raj Bhawan.
Additionally, he put up a letter of support from 160 MLAs to assert his claim to form a new government. After presenting his resignation to the governor, Kumar reportedly told Chauhan, "All MPs and MLAs are at a consensus that we should leave the NDA."
He then departed for the Patna home of Rabri Devi, the wife of RDJ patriarch Lalu Yadav.
Upendra Kushwaha, the head of the JD(U) parliamentary board, had earlier congratulated Kumar for "taking leadership of a new coalition in a new shape."
