
According to officials, on Friday, Chennai Air Customs arrested a traveller who had flown on Ethiopian Airlines from Addis Abeba with 9.590 kg of heroin and cocaine worth at 100 crores.
Iqbal B. Urandadi, an Indian passenger, was detained by AIU personnel on August 11 after Ethiopian Airlines flew him from Addis Ababa, according to information provided by Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officer Anil Kumar. In a statement, Chennai Air Customs announced that 100 crores worth of heroin and cocaine totaling 9.590 kg had been seized.
"During the examination of his luggage and person, cocaine and heroin worth $100 million that had been hidden in his checked luggage and shoes were discovered. The drug was seized in accordance with the 1985 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
