A top BCCI official announced on Friday that the eagerly anticipated Women's IPL will begin in March 2023, last for one month, and most likely feature five teams.

After much discussion, a date in March was chosen for the competition following the Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.

From February 9 to February 26, South Africa will host the T20 World Cup, and we're planning to hold the WIPL right after that "Under the condition of anonymity, a top BCCI official with knowledge of the situation said PTI.

In separate interviews with PTI, the BCCI's secretary Jay Shah and president Sourav Ganguly both stated that the WIPL would begin in 2023.

Many fans of cricket think that the WIPL will spark a revolution and dramatically raise the level of women's cricket in India.
