The visitors defeated Zimbabwe by 13 runs in the third ODI, which was played in Harare on Monday. Shubman Gill reached his first ODI century before taking an outstanding catch off centurion Sikandar Raza to prevent Zimbabwe from earning a consolation victory.

Although India leads the series 3-0, Monday's game was anything but easy for them as Zimbabwe rallied from being at 169/7 to requiring 17 off the final two overs. In the penultimate over, Gill dived full length at long-on to catch Raza's mistimed hoick inches from the ground as he was on strike after scoring his third hundred (115 off 95 balls) in six games.

India had a legitimate reason to try to set the aim this time after chasing in the previous two games. It was entirely Zimbabwe's fault that they were unable to reach 300 despite reaching 210/2 after 40 overs with Gill bowling brilliantly. Evans' double-wicket finish in the 50th over was the final straw. India also got off to a slow start, managing just 41 in their opening powerplay. However, once KL Rahul started to play his shots more freely, the run rate began to increase. Before blasting Evans behind the point for his first boundary, he hammered a Nyauchi delivery past the cover point for three runs.
