After the BJP staged a walkout as the head of the Janata Dal (United) addressed the House on Wednesday, Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, was able to demonstrate the confidence of the "Mahagathbandhan" alliance government in the House. With 160 votes in favour and 0 against, Kumar was able to show his majority in a voice vote.
Before 2 o'clock, the Legislative Assembly's business was suspended, and deputy speaker Maheshwar Hazari presided over the meeting. Following Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister and leader of the RJD, spoke to the Assembly in support of the motion.
Vijay Kumar Sinha, the speaker of the Assembly for the BJP, resigned before the floor test when the MLAs of the ruling coalition tabled a no-confidence resolution against him.
