The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed on Thursday that it had arrested two people in connection with a significant drug bust that resulted in the seizure of nearly 3,000 kg of heroin at Gujarat's Mundra port and for which it had searched 20 locations in the national capital and three states.

The narcotics cartel was exposed in September of last year, and the raids were carried out on Wednesday. According to an NIA official, who was quoted by the news agency PTI, the suspects, Harpreet Singh Talwar alias Kabir Talwar and Prince Sharma, are residents of Delhi and were involved in a global conspiracy that trafficked significant amounts of heroin from Afghanistan for commercial use.

On Wednesday, the agency conducted simultaneous searches at 20 locations, including 14 in Delhi, 3 in West Bengal, 2 in Gujarat, and 1 in Punjab. According to the NIA, the arrests were made in light of the current state of the investigation and incriminating information found during the searches.
