Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ji's vision for Sabko Dawai, Sasti Dawai, the Union Health Ministry is undertaking a number of initiatives (affordable medicines for all). At the release, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that the National List of Essential Medications "plays an essential role in guaranteeing the accessibility of cheap quality medicines at all levels of healthcare."
