In the Una area of Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled the departure of the fourth Vande Bharat Express train on Thursday. With upcoming assembly elections, this is the state's first Vande Bharat train. "The train will travel between Delhi and Amb Andura at a semi-high speed. Except for Wednesdays, it will run every day, a senior railways official had told HT on Wednesday. Bhupender Yadav, a union minister, posted a video of PM Modi waving the train off.
The new service will be introduced next week, cutting the distance between Delhi and Chandigarh's travel time to three hours. The journey from the national capital to Himachal Pradesh would take almost five hours. "It takes just 52 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. The installation of the train would promote tourism in the area and offer a convenient and quick form of transportation, "a government statement states. According to the Railways Ministry, it will also benefit pilgrims and worshippers travelling to religious sites in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana.
