BJP appears to have a good chance of becoming the single largest party in the Manipur assembly. However, they are still short of the required majority of 31 votes. Meanwhile, N Biren Singh, the BJP's Chief Minister, has won the Heingang seat by roughly 18,000 votes.

At 8 a.m., the two-phase counting of ballots for the Manipur assembly elections of 2022 began. Today, the election results will be announced.

The turnout for the 60-seat Manipur assembly election was 78.03 percent on February 28 and 76.04 percent on March 5. The destiny of 92 candidates will be decided by the results of the assembly elections.

The BJP chose to go it alone this time and run for all 60 seats. Congress, on the other side, created a coalition of six political groups called the Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance (MPSA), which includes the Congress Party, the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (M), the Forward Bloc, the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), and the Janata Dal (Secular). s

According to exit polls, BJP would win the election as the single largest party in Manipur. Exit polls, on the other hand, are not always accurate.

The Congress was the single largest party in the 2017 elections, with 28 seats, followed by the BJP (21). The BJP did, however, create a government coalition with the NPP, NPF, and LJP afterwards.

In the 2017 Manipur Assembly elections, the Congress came out on top with 28 seats, followed by the BJP with 21 seats. The National People's Party (NPP) and the Naga People's Front (NPF) both received four seats, while the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) only received one. The BJP earned 36.28 percent of the vote, while the Congress received 35.11 percent.

Later, under the leadership of Biren Singh, the BJP formed a coalition with NPP, NPF, and LJP to establish the government.

The assembly elections will determine the fate of 92 candidates, including 12 from the BJP, Congress (18), National People's Party (11), Janata Dal (United), and Naga People's Front (10 each).
