Following Biocon CEO Kiran Majumdar Shaw's tweet on a "rising religious rift," Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai remarked on Thursday that everyone should exercise restraint.
"Over the years, we've been living with our ideas on a variety of problems. Karnataka is noted for its progress and harmony. Peaceful discussions can be used to settle social difficulties. As a result, everyone should exercise restraint and work together to maintain peace and order "Bommai remarked.
Unfortunately, vested interests are seizing control of the situation, he warned.
At Vidhana Soudha, Bommai was speaking to journalists.
Bommai claimed the school uniform problem has already been settled, in response to a tweet from Biocon CEO Kiran Mazumdar Shaw promoting the need to eliminate communal animosity for the state's development.
"I am convinced that our CM Bommai will bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion. I am a proud Kannadiga who does not want these incidences to impede from the state's economic development. This is something that all parties must work for "Later, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw stated.
"Karnataka has traditionally fostered inclusive economic development and we must not accept such communal segregation," she tweeted earlier. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been asked by Shaw to address the state's rising religious rift.
She had warned, "If IT-BT becomes communal, it will ruin our worldwide leadership."
Right-wing organisations in Karnataka have intensified their push to boycott halal meat purchases and Muslim merchants from conducting business within temple grounds and religious fairs, prompting Kiran Shaw's tweet.
