In view of the upcoming festivals of Ramzan, Ram Navami, Ambedkar Jayanti, and High School/Inter examinations, as well as the dates of the General Legislative Council Election 2022, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police commissionerate issued an order on Friday imposing Section 144 CrPC in the district from April 1 to April 30.

In the order, Ashutosh Dwivedi, Additional Police Deputy Commissioner, stated that persons must wear masks and observe COVID-19 norms in public locations.

The directive further said that no one should hold a public fast or dharna without the approval of the appropriate authority, nor should they inspire others to do so. The directive also said that no one may participate in any form of procession without prior approval.

According to the order, no one should carry rods, poles, or weapons that can inflict any form of injury to anyone save police officers and those who work in administration. No one should perform any kind of prayer at a location that is disputed or where there is no such custom, and no one should let their animals walk near sites of worship, according to the edict.

The injunction was issued to ensure that the district maintains peace and harmony at this time.
