Following a series of strikes, police in Jammu and Kashmir initiated a huge crackdown on anyone suspected of aiding separatists and terrorists, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the police, two terrorists were killed in an anti-terrorist action this morning in Tral and Awantipora in the Pulwama district.

According to them, the operation was predicated on intelligence provided by an arrested guy who aided terrorists.

"Some accused attempted to flee when the police party arrived. They were, however, pursued hard. One of them pulled out a firearm and fired, but was killed by the police party in reprisal "Dilbag Singh, the chief of the Jammu and Kashmir police force, said as much.

Another terrorist was also slain in the operation, according to Mr Singh.

The terrorists slain, according to the police, were involved in recent civilian killings, including the assassination of a village leader in Khanmoh.

"Both are Lashkar-e-Taiba members who live in the area. They were involved in a number of terrorist attacks, including the murder of some people "a police officer stated

Shafat Muzaffar and Umer Teli, according to the authorities, were the terrorists killed.
