Officials claimed on Friday that the CBI has filed a new case against former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of stealing land from candidates in exchange for railway posts. According to them, the investigation agency has begun searching 17 places in Delhi and Bihar. Officials say the purported land-for-jobs scheme occurred when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the UPA government's railway minister.

Misa Bharti, Lalu's daughter, was also identified in the study, according to news reports. Land was taken from unemployed teenagers under the guise of providing them with government jobs. According to a CBI source, Lalu and others were recently charged with taking payments from unemployed youths and defrauding them under the guise of supplying them with government jobs.

"When Yadav was a Union minister, he informed the innocent people that he would help them gain government employment, either through his aide or directly. They also seized land from employment seekers. However, not everyone was given a job "IANS reported on the source. When asked how many such land parcels Lalu and others gained as a result of this, the source stated they were compiling a list.

The statements of persons who are present at the places are also being recorded by CBI officers.
