When party workers were protesting against CBI officers who raided the Yadavs' Patna house on Thursday, Devi, the wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, screamed at them and even slapped supporters. The searches were carried out when the CBI filed new corruption investigations against Lalu Yadav and his family members, in addition to the infamous Fodder scam, and raided multiple places, including Rabri Devis' home. Outside Rabri Devi's home, RJD workers and supporters were chanting and protesting against the CBI officers who were escorted by Rabri Devi. Despite Rabri Devi's orders, RJD supporters continued to yell. According to the footage, she then lost her cool and pummelling a few supporters, which has gone viral on social media.
According to them, the CBI had opened a preliminary investigation into the claims, which was then transformed into a FIR. The CBI began a search operation on Friday morning at 16 sites in Delhi, Patna, and Gopalganj in response to the FIR filed against Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, daughters Misa and Hema, and numerous candidates.
Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal said on Friday that the CBI's new corruption case against its chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members was "predictable," and that the BJP uses probe agencies to intimidate its opponents whenever its grip on power is shaky and it believes that anti-BJP mobilisation is underway.
"They (BJP) try to intimidate others by focusing on one person. Nobody is going to be terrified. We will not, nor will they, nor will the people of Bihar "In response to the CBI action, RJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha remarked.
