Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that an opportunity should be given to correct errors, if any, during the ongoing CBI investigation into the school teacher recruitment scandal.

Banerjee claimed that the claims of illegitimate appointments have been exaggerated in an effort to shield the former state education minister Partha Chatterjee, who was recently questioned by the investigation team in relation to the scandal.

The CM asked what would happen to the jobs that were dispersed in Medinipur districts while the BJP leader served as a state cabinet member, a subtle jab at Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari.

"Unlike those who use the legal system to force layoffs, we have attempted to generate jobs. Nearly a lakh people have received work from us (in the school education department). There may be 50 to 100 instances of errors among them.

In the Assembly, Banerjee remarked, "You have to provide an opportunity to correct these mistakes."

In Midnapore, where the BJP MLA is a well-liked leader, Banerjee said she is well aware of the manner positions were dispersed without mentioning Adhikari.

"Some individuals have threatened us with CBI and ED. However, they must first examine themselves. Are we not aware of the distribution of jobs in Midnapore and the shifting of job sites from one area to another.

"We are all fully aware of how Dadamoni (older brother) had hired guys in the regions of Murshidabad, Purulia, and North Dinajpur, and for what. When they are in opposition, those who engaged in corruption while in power are making noise. It should also be looked at the BJP leaders, she remarked.

Over the past few months, the Calcutta High Court has mandated CBI investigations into a number of incidents involving school placements, including a hiring push by the School Service Commission.

What is going to happen to the jobs that Suvendu Adhikari distributed? The CM questioned, "Will those staff also be let go?

According to Banerjee, someone mishandled paperwork that Chatterjee signed to damage his reputation.

I am extra cautious when signing because of this.
