Om Singh, who is Tripathi's brother-in-law, and his two accomplices, Prince Raghuvanshi and Shiv Shankar Pandey, were apprehended with 35 lakh that they were returning to the complainant because the party worker's name was not on the list of those who were given tickets to run in the election the following month, according to ACB chief Madhur Verma.

Tripathi, a lawmaker representing the Model Town district, was unavailable for comment despite numerous calls and texts.

On December 4, there will be an MCD election.

The ACB clarified the case's specifics by stating that on November 14, the complainant Gopal Khari approached the ACB and said that MLA Tripathi had requested a bribe of 90 lakh to obtain a ticket for his wife, Shobha Khari, from ward 69 (Kamla Nagar).
