New discoveries in the market manipulation case, the CBI told a court today that former stock exchange Chief Chitra Ramkrishna and her close aide Anand Subramanian visited tax havens like Seychelles and Mauritius.

The former CEO of the National Stock Exchange, Chitra Ramkrishna, and Anand Subramanian, whom she controversially named as Chief Operating Officer, were both detained earlier this month.

The CBI today argued against Anand Subramanian's bail request, claiming that additional details needed to be investigated. He is also a flight risk, according to the agency.

"They travelled to various tax havens, including Seychelles, Mauritius, and others. This, too, must be investigated," A special court was instructed by the CBI.

"We oppose Anand Subramanian's bail request because he is powerful and could flee the country. He's a fugitive" According to the agency.

"But he didn't flee in these four years (the FIR was filed in 2018)," Sanjeev Aggarwal, the special judge, told the CBI.

According to the agency, he did so simply because he didn't think he'd get caught.

"All the while, he was hoping that the 'Yogi' would remain anonymous. He was using that email address to send Chitra Ramakrishna messages and influence her decisions" According to the CBI.

Anand Subramanian was proven to be the enigmatic "Himalayan Yogi" who connected with Chitra Ramkrishna via email, according to the CBI.

Market regulator SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) had accused Chitra Ramkrishna of taking critical decisions as Chief of India's largest stock exchange under the Yogi's influence for the past 20 years.

One of these decisions was the appointment of Anand Subramanian as Chief Operating Officer despite the fact that he lacked the necessary credentials and expertise. From her email id rchitra@icloud.com to rigyajursama@outlook.com between 2013 and 2016, she was accused of communicating private information with the "yogi" connected to the NSE, according to CBI sources.

Also, according to the CBI, there was sufficient proof that Anand Subramanian was the "yogi”
